
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. There, she made her debut in professional football and was a part of the team's success in winning the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time and was the youngest player in the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final game against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was second in the United States with 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012, which makes her the youngest and sixth most prolific player to score 20 goals in a single year. Morgan was later awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments and also won the Silver Boot in 2019.
