CarrieCarrie-Anne Moss (born August 21 1967 [1Carrie-Anne Moss (born August 21, 1967[1) is a Canadian actress. Following her first appearance on television her name was brought to international prominence for her role in the role of Trinity in The Matrix series (1999-present). She has starred in Memento (2000) for which she received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006) for which she received the Genie Award for Best Performance by an actor in a supporting role, Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010), Silent Hill: Revelation (2012) as well as Pompeii (2014). Jessica Jones (2015), 2015-2019) and Unthinkable (2010) was among her television roles. While living in Spain, Moss obtained a part as Tara Clerk to Judge Nicholas Marshall in the drama series Dark Justice, her first television appearance. In 1992, she moved with the series from Barcelona to Los Angeles. Moss quit Dark Justice before the series the third and final season and was replaced by Elisa Heinsohn who played Samantha "Sam" Collins. After her return, she enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. There she worked as a model, and later starred in Fox's soap opera of the same name Models Inc. The series was canceled on July 15, 1995. Matrix was a brief-lived made in Canada series. In the 1990s, she was an actress in numerous television shows including Street Justice and Baywatch. She also appeared on F/X: The Series and Due South. Due South received her a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest Artist in the field of drama. Her film roles included a variety of B films, including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (94), Tough Guy (94), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (191996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
